4 month check up!!

Miss P had her 4 month check up yesterday, ya I know we are a few weeks late considering she will be 5 months next Thursday! EEEK!

So at 19 weeks Miss P is:

13 lbs .5 ounces and 24 inches long!!! We are in the 30th and 40th percentile (respectively) for her age!

Here is Miss P. Smiling and being all cute for her male doctor. No lie. Until he got her shots.

Doctor says she is perfect and very much the cutie :) The nurse even asked if she could babysit or come home with me so she can keep staring at my the  "little beauty" her words not mine. But I do agree with her. We are definitely going to have to make sure our little beauty queen grows up with some humility. We don't want her to be that cute snobby girl in school :)

Anyways, enough about how cute she is.

Miss P's doctor is awesome. He sits and listens to my million and one questions that I have. Never once has he made me feel dumb or silly for the questions that I ask. He also shares his personal experiences of what he did with his kids, but also reenforces to me that his way is not the "only" way to do things. He also doesn't force a sleep method I should do for Miss P, like another doctor I saw. Ugh. He also reassured me that she is little and it is OK. I had been stressing about her size. She still is wearing size 1 diapers and fits in her 3 months clothes, anything 3-6 months or 6 months swallows her whole. Miss P's doctor told me again that as long as she is gaining weight, growing and seems healthy and happy there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Also he said she is teething. She will have teeth soon. Aye. Now I have to figure out how to breastfeed with teeth?! Oh man!

Next, week when P is 5 months I will talk more about all the fun things she is doing and saying with videos. :)

Well hello!!

I know, I know, I have been MIA, but whew things got crazy busy for a few moments there and then on top of it I didn't have internet! It feels good to reconnected with reality!

Here is the cliff notes version of what has been going on...

We moved! Closer to Mr. G's campus. The house is nice and big (for us) and I am done unpacking! Yay! And now its on to decorating!

I took a trip to California! For my sweet sisters graduation from med school!So proud of her! It was 4 days too short and of course we came home exhausted. Thankfully no one got sick this time! But we did fly over that horrible tornado that smashed Missouri :( Scariest plane flight of my life!!!

Also, some exciting news is that we are having visitors this summer!!! I am over the moon excited! Cousin Casie is coming THIS Monday! And our cousins the G family is coming too, for Miss P and Miss S's first 4th of July! We are already worked on the menu and now we are working on scheduling the activities! Yippie!!

Lastly, I went back and forth on sharing this bit of information but I think the people who acutally read this blog already know this bit of information and this way I can share how I am doing and feeling.

I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Apparently, I have had this disease for a long while...but the stress of pregnancy made the symptoms worse and unbearable. I am going to try a non drug approach to deal with this, because treatment means steroids and the end of breast feeding which I am not ready to give up just yet. Also, once you start treatment you have to continue treatment forever! 

For those who do not know what Crohn's disease is, it is a autoimmune disease where my body attacks the colon causing lots of pain. Its a life long disease and will require a life long maintenance.

Anyways, I have chosen to surpass the drug use and try a gluten free diet in attempt to control this disease. I am giving myself 3 months to feel a difference. So far its been one week and can I tell you IT IS HARD!

My next post will be solely dedicated to Miss P and her sweetness she is going to be 5 months in a week in a half ... bittersweet!

I am back!!

I finally have internet!

I will do one large post on everything that is going on!

Just a few more days and I will have it up! I am still unpacking! lol

My new home sweet home...

Here are some photos of our new home.. that we will be moving living in in T-minus 23 days! Ahhh


The owners still have a bit of cleaning up to do so if the photos look a tady "dirty" it's because it IS dirty!

My top 5 favorite things about this new place:

1. The backyard! The dogs now have a place to run, bark, pee, poop and go dog wild!

2. Storage! There is a garage and actual place to store stuff!

3. Space. There is a lot of room here! I love the condo on the lake and it so far has been my favorite part about living here in North Carolina so far, but its small and when you have more than 1-2 people over it is crowded and claustrophobic!  So now we have 2 guest rooms!!! So everyone has a place to sleep, stay and hang out and that my friends makes me a happy mama!

4. Location. Well living in Boiling Springs is umm, well how do you say different. For those of you have yet to visit or see the area when you do you will laugh. It is literally 1 min away from Mr. G's school and 2 mins away from his office. Can you say awesome. He now can come home for lunch! And I can go to the track to run! Woot!

5. We are close to one of the coaches on Mr. G's staff that has a 1 year old that is fun. So hanging out is no longer a production. If I forget something drive less than 5 mins to the house and back to get what I need! Yup!

So, aside from trying to move form one house to the next (can you say stressful) I am excited.  GG (my mom) is going to come and help me move for a few days at the end of the month to help me organize, move and decorate!

April Fools...

Today is April 1st...aka April fools day.

I hate this day.

I always feel like I get excited or sad for people and its such wasted energy and emotion.

But ya, I have no joke for you guys. I could use the over used one... I'm pregnant!

But I am not and I don't want to be so ya.

No joke ... My favorite G family is coming to visit me for 4th of July week!

YOU. HAVE. NO. IDEA. HOW. EXCITED. I. AM. :)

It almost didn't happen ... so glad it did!

Because we are both feeling under the weather (me with a respirtory infection and Miss P getting her shots) we did a pajama and laundry day! Oh fun!
