Weekly Update: 24 Weeks

Week: 24

Month: 6

TRIMESTER: 2

GENDER: BOY!!!

THIS WEEK THE BABY IS : Baby your growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts you at just over a pound! Woo hoo! Since your almost a foot long (picture and ear of corn), you cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but your body is filling out proportionally and you'll soon start to plump up. Lil girl your brain is also growing quickly now, and your taste buds are continuing to develop. Little one your lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help your air sacs inflate once you hit the outside world. Your skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

SYMPTOMS: Hip and groin pain. Easily tire.

CURRENT MOOD: Lazy. I am waiting to feel motivated to get everything done on my list.

CURRENT CRAVING: None.
CURRENT WORRY: None really

Weekly Update: Week 16

WEEK: 16!

MONTH: 4

TRIMESTER: 2

GENDER: Still unknown (I am guessing girl!)

THIS WEEK THE BABY IS: Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect

CURRENT SYMPTOMS: Aside from feeling some slight sickness in the evening, I have been feeling pretty great. I had cut back on working out the last 2 weeks and this week I have started up again, so far so good!

CURRENT MOOD: Ready to find out the sex of the baby (11 days) So I can give it a name and start introducing the concept of baby to Miss P (although from what I hear she won't get it, but it is worth a shot!)

CURRENT CRAVING: Again, no real cravings. I know I am so boring. Although I am sure I am drinking my daily caloric intake in Gatorade daily :)  It is the only thing that satisfies my thirst.

CURRENT WORRIES: No worries at this point, although I do not look forward to being super uncomfortable again...

16 Month Check up and Weekly Update: 14

Updates on my babies!

I don't know about any of you parents out there but seriously going to the doctors is the most stressful process ever!

You have to keep a toddler happy for hours on top of not without losing your sanity.

They want  to sit on the table, they want off the table, they want to sit under the table, they want to climb on the chair, they want to look in the trash can, they want to roll around on the floor, they want you to read them a book, they want to read the book. I mean its exhausting.

And this doesn't include the wrestling that goes on just so the doctor can look in their ears, throat, and the shots. (Miss P remember all this everytime we go)

I am glad not to go back for another 3 months! I was thinking about how the heck will I do this with two... maybe they will play together. Maybe not.

Anyways Miss P's stats goes as follows:

19.5lbs (4%)

29.5 inches (10%)

She dropped in percentages but the doctor says she is healthy, happy, thriving and developmentally advanced (insert proud mama smile here). He even went out of his way to comment on how well her speech and understanding of language is. I believe she get this from her Daddy :)

Here is a cute video of Miss P and my sisters kitty. She was so sweet and gentle she will be such a good big sister :)

Weekly Update: Week 14

WEEK: 14!

MONTH: 4

TRIMESTER: 2

GENDER: Still unknown (I am guessing girl!)

THIS WEEK THE BABY IS: This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

CURRENT SYMPTOMS: Ligament pain. Its pretty constant and intense. I am worse off now than I was at 9 months with Miss P. The doctor has informed me not to work through the pain and to listen to my body, if it hurts I am to stop what I am doing.  Not something I am used to and it doesn't work well considering it hurts to walk. I am limping like I am 9 months preggo! Aye. I am nervous to see how it progress throughout the rest of this pregnancy.

CURRENT MOOD: Excited. I have been working on baby names and cleaned out Miss P's room and made it more of a toddler room than a infant room, really bittersweet. Thank goodness I will have another little baby to hold soon enough.

CURRENT CRAVING: No real cravings. I know I am so boring.

CURRENT WORRIES: Besides the pain nothing. I am ready for Mr. G to get home to get some relief in the evenings.Evenings are the hardest.

Weekly Update: 13 Weeks

WEEK: 13 (Week late I know)

MONTH: 4

TRIMESTER: 2

GENDER: Still unknown!!

THIS WEEK THE BABY IS: Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

CURRENT SYMPTOMS: None

CURRENT MOOD: Mood is good, excited to know the sex in a few weeks.

CURRENT CRAVING: Currently no cravings. But I can handle the smell of coffee again yay!

CURRENT WORRIES: I got a nasty rash on my stomach and legs that ended up being some sort of fungus. Thank goodness its no harm to the baby but I do have to use a steroid to clear it up. Which I am using sparingly and at half dose.

Weekly Update: Week 12!

I blame the missing 11 week post to Miss P and our crazy crazy week. Lets just say I am so glad it is over!

WEEK: 12

MONTH: 3!

TRIMESTER: 1

GENDER: Still unknown!!

THIS WEEK THE BABY IS: The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be

CURRENT SYMPTOMS: None

CURRENT MOOD: My mood is good, Miss P is keeping me really busy so I don't have time to be one way or another. Feeling so much better right now! And I can handle the smell of coffee again yay! None

CURRENT CRAVING: Currently no cravings. But I can handle the smell of coffee again yay!

I am back!

In case you didn't know but I am sure you do, I am pregnant AGAIN!

Yeee, I am so excited to give Miss P a brother or sister to always have by her side, play with, and confide in for the rest of their lives! This most likely won't be the last sibling for Miss P but lets just focus on this little one growing and the fact I am going to get to snuggle with a new born and smell that sweet newborn smell!

So, I am officaly 10 weeks!

I don't feel great.

And I look like I am six months pregnant already! Ewww.

This pergnancy is night and day from my last one!

I will do my weekly updates and will catch up to 10 weeks in this post with photos and information.

I do have to say, that because of the way things are here in NC, I am going to have to make this blog private... I do not want any photos or information or whatever complaints I have (in general not just pregnancy to be used against Mr. G and his job at anytime.) I hope you guys will still follow. Its really easy to subscribe. The next post will be private!

Ok, so I am due Nov. 14! But my c-section will be a week prior to 40 weeks, hopefully not before Nov. 7th...but that is the week Mr. G will be out of town so there will have to be some serious sechduling going down. This will be offically scheduled at 6 months of pregnancy!     

WEEK 10!!!

WEEK: 10

MONTH: 2.5!

TRIMESTER: 1

GENDER: Still unknown!!

THIS WEEK THE BABY IS: Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again will double in size to nearly 3 inches.

WEIGHT GAIN:  Last time at this point in my pregnancy I had gained 6 lbs! This time I have only gained 1lb! Go me!

SYMPTOMS: TIRED! NAUSEOUS (although no puking!) an over all feeling of crappy and the smell of coffee makes me gag! Worst than last pregnancy!

CURRENT MOOD: Trying to Survive...almost there!

CURRENT CRAVING: none

CURRENT WORRY: None at the moment, but I have decided to eat gluten free this pregnancy. So far it hasn't been that hard... but I think it will be really good for me in the end.

Everyday Miss P's personality has become more and more obvious that she is going to be just like her mommy! It makes me happy and terrified at the same time!!!

Here is a perfect example of this!!!

Play fun!

Today I babysat a dear friends daughter for a few hours.

Payton was in heaven!

When I told her that her friend Nora was coming over she squealed with delight! No, lie!

They play so well together. Nora is a nurturer at heart and is always making sure Miss P has her milk, her toy or whatever she thinks she needs.

Here is a small glimpse of the fun the girls have together!

Cutness

My mother in law sent us some sweet Valentine's Day Love in a little package along with a Christmas Story Book that her and my Father in law recorded back in December. We had SO much stuff to travel home with that this little gem got left behind.

So, this morning I decided to let Miss P listen to it and I recorded her reaction at hearing her grandparents voices...its pretty darn cute I must say!

There is a lot going on over here in our little small town that has kept me distracted from blogging, but I think I will blog more and use this as the main  distraction. Hopefully I will come up with some fun stuff to talk about!

In the mean time this is my prayer for the next few weeks. I find it comforting to know that really in the end I can only do so much.

The three best friends there ever was

Miss P personality has really started to shine! And boy does she have one!

Her latest obsession are her lil brothers (the doggies, don't get all worked up)

She loves to snuggle with them, bark with them, lick the floor like them and howl like them. Ya, you heard me right. She howls. Head tilted back and all. Its hilarious. I can never get it on camera, but today I got a sneak peak.

I was in the other room and I could hear her howling (Yes, Miss P) So I went to go check on her and make sure she was ok. And low and behold this is what I found!!!

Watch this as she cuddles, shares her toy, and howls with the dog ( unfortunately because she was cuddling there is no head tilt in the video)

Disclaimer: This is Mr. G's room.  I do NOT touch or go in this room (as you can see I only stand in the door way) ! Its a clutter mess and we all know how I feel about excessive clutter and mess in my house and if you don't know it stresses me out and gives me anxiety!

A day of Miss P!

Today my daughter has been extremely busy!! Like non stop active girl! She was being so funny and random I decided to start taking photos and share what she did all before 2:00 Easter time!!!

She practices putting her cup on the table and not throwing it on the ground when she is done!

So far I have been so busy with this girl and I have been started to get creative with how to keep her busy!!

Hello there :)

So, it seems that some of you think I have forgotten about my blog. I haven't. I just really have no idea what to write about.. Its been an interesting few months nothing I want to share just know interesting as in exciting, stressful, emotional...you know life. But I am back. I can't promise consistency, but I can promise I will be here and try to keep you entertained. Cause I mean come on I am awesome like that!

I have finally found something to start with. A friend of mine on Facebook posted this article about being a working mom and being a stay at home mom. I feel it is totally appropriate to share because I feel like every mom no matter what choices you have made or have to make you feel like this! Even if your a dad or a guy you should read this and understand that sometimes as a wife and mother...there is no win win for us. Hard to believe but it is true. We want so hard to be super woman but in all reality we really can't do it...

Ok! Anyho!

I haven't blogged much lately because there hasn't been much going on. Football is going OK and Miss P has been teething off and on. Making for a tired and cranky mama.

But there is something that is awesome. The Fall weather. That is the one thing that I love about this place. The trees are so gorgeous and colorful it is almost like someone went out and painted the leaves the most vibrant red, orange, and yellow colors you could imagine!

See what I mean? I didn't even have leave my house to see this! All I gotta do is look out my window and BAM its beautiful and colorful!!!

Ok, I feel sooo much better now!

But in all honesty I do!!! I have no idea where it has been my whole life and how I have never used it before until recently!!!

I spend so much time during the day trying to figure what to make next and browsing the Internet looking for the perfect recipe!!!

Feeding the boys...

So last night we fed Mr. G's players all 8 of them.

We had 3 hundred pounder pizza

and

100 wings.

There are zero wings left.

And 3 pieces of pizza left.

I also made cookies. My friend / cousin in law or whatever u want to call her (either way I love her!) Stephanie found me some cute football cookie and brownies recipes. I made them the night before let me tell you they look NOTHING like the photo! But they were YUMMY!

Miss P, was something else. She cried, no wait, screamed the whole time the guys were there. Sweet.

I wasn't able to get a lot of photos because well Miss P for a lack of a better word a pain.

*Side note she is teething and has 3 more teeth about to break through, but boy is she something else.

Anyho,  hope you enjoyed. I have become quite the host lately and I think I am going to need to not be so shy and reserved when I do this, but I made a point to talk to each guy and get their name! One step in the right direction! Whew!!!

old wives tales.

To start I want to clarify that I am not a superstitious person, I don't believe in wives tales and I do not believe in good luck charms or anything of that sort. I dunno why, but I have never been that way. Having said that I never ever diss anyone or judge those who do.

Ok to the main reason I am blogging this.

Today, I was exposed to a wives tale that takes the cake in tales.... never even knew people believed in stuff like this. Now, don't worry I am not going to start putting eggs under my bed to help Miss P's teething (huge wives tale here) or put a nickle around her neck (also for teething)

Anyho, today at the play group I go to at the YMCA, a fellow mommy was telling us other moms about a family tradition that tells you how many kids you are going to have and the sex of the kids in order they are born. ( Picture me here rolling my eyes and shaking my head) She was telling us she is 1 of 6 kids and it has predicted every one in her family's kids right and there has not been one mistake yet. (OK, so here I listen up a little mor but I am still like ya right ) To clarify she is 1 of 6 and each of her siblings have kids.

So a few of the moms tell her how they want to try it out and see for themselves. Me? I was like count me out.
So, they start trying. What you need is a gold or platinum ring solid, no diamonds or anything. Then you need a piece of string and you have to tie the ring to the end of it. Next you put the ring over your wrist and the rest you watch.

How it works is circles are girls and swinging back and forth are boys. The ring will always go in a circle for the mother first then show you the kids you already have. It stops to a full dead stop between each person and kid. I watched 5 woman do this. And each time I saw the mother and the kids they already had, and then some had more kids others the ring stopped dead in its tracks and did not budge after that. Your thinking crazy right?!

SO CRAZY!

So, guess who decides to give it a try?

Me!

So. The ring turns once for me and stops.

The ring then turns in another direction for Miss P and stops!

The ring then turns in ANOTHER directions and stops (another girl)!!

The ring then turns AGAIN in the other directions and stops (ANOTHER GIRL)!!!

Basically this ring told me I was going to have THREE GIRLS!

And this lady told me it has NEVER EVER been wrong to her or anyone on in her family!

Now, I told her next week I wanted to try this again and see if anything changes!

I do not expect anyone to believe this, but let me tell you come December if your in California come find me and we are going to do this!

This maybe the first type of superstitious, wives taleish thing I have ever might almost believe in. I am still a skeptic until I have tried a few more times but wow! Crazy huh?

I told Mr. G who knows my stance on silly stuff like that and I think he believed me but his response was. "It is wrong, because we will keep having kids till we have a boy."

Ha keep dreaming honey.

Wow 3 girls! We will see!!!

Fair Round 2!

I finally got to go to the fair with Mr. G!

Last year we went I was pregnant and forgot my camera.

Last year I was really like really disappointed I couldn't ride rides and guess what this year I didn't get to either.

 Why you ask? Because apparently the older you get the less you like to ride rides? Apprently I didn't get this memo cause the kid in me was screaming to get on the fastest ride there!
